AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — 30 November, 2022: Hiber, the IoT-as-a-Service provider, will focus exclusively on the development and rollout of HiberHilo, remote monitoring technology developed to increase safety and operational efficiency in the oil and gas industry.
Delivered in partnership with WTS Energy, Hiber’s comprehensive HiberHilo solution uses affordable satellite connectivity to make monitoring wells and pipelines located anywhere on earth safer and more data-driven. HiberHilo is already used around the world by dozens of oil and gas producers, including Shell, Santos, Dacian Petroleum and Niger Delta Petroleum Resources.
Hiber’s decision to focus on HiberHilo and opportunities presented by the oil and gas energy transition follows a review of the business by its management and investors. Hiber will continue to operate as an independent business working in partnership with WTS Energy.
Roel Jansen (CEO) of Hiber comments: “While Hiber’s core technology can be applied to many use cases, we have made fantastic progress in the oil and gas sector. The energy transition means more wells must be monitored remotely and this presents a significant and immediate opportunity for us. Facing economic uncertainty and a challenging funding environment, we have decided to focus exclusively on our most successful solution till date to ensure we can continue to operate as a strong and sustainable business.”
